I’m Mary J. Gengler and a full-time resident of Waupaca. I graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee with a double major in Business and Professional Communications. I am currently retired; but, I’ve worn many hats during my professional career in marketing and sales. My last career was spent as Executive Director for a statewide non-profit organization known as Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety. I now serve as Board Chairperson for the non-profit Foundations for Living (FFL) organization. As Chair, I hope to use my business background and provide leadership to further the goals of FFL.
Along with the full Board of Directors, I share a firm desire to help those in need in our community. We have all experienced someone who needs our help, or a second chance in life, whether it is close family members, friends or just acquaintances. It is up to all of us to make a difference in our community and offer that assistance.
I am married to Dan for 49 years, and we have been blessed with two sons – Scott and Craig Gengler. We have three grandsons – Ryan, Ross and Andrew. As a family, we have always been thankful for the blessings that God has bestowed on our family; and we are very grateful. I wish for those struggling in our community to also be grateful for something. Hopefully, as caring individuals and as an organization, we can impart some direction to those who are struggling through individual friendship, guidance and support.
Along with my husband, we attend St. Mary Magdalene Parish (SMM) in Waupaca. I discovered the wonderful work being done by Foundations for Living as a parish member of “SMM Social Concerns Committee.” I also serve as Chairperson for the St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and SMM Parish Conference.
My name is Bob Steidl and I have lived in Waupaca for forty three years. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University Of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I am a licensed Real Estate Broker and have been engaged in the Real Estate business in Waupaca since 1972. I have also been involved in several other businesses both in and outside of Waupaca.
I am a member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Waupaca and am on both the Social Concerns Committee and the Sister Parish Committee. I have also served two terms on the Parish Council.
After hearing about Foundations For Living, I decided to make a commitment to help in their causes in whatever way I can contribute. I am now on the Board Of Directors. I am especially interested in the Warming Center project. “…Somewhere there are people without a bed, without a roof, without a place to lay their head.” (Part of a prayer by Helen Reichert Lambin) I believe this is an issue we should all be concerned with.
Greg Biba is a long time band director at the Waupaca Middle School and received his Masters Degree from St. Marys University of Minnesota. Greg is also a member of the River Cities Jazz Big Band, one of Central Wisconsin’s Premier Big Bands. Other hobbies and interests include landscaping and being an inventor and new product developer. Several of his inventions have been patented. Greg has also published a Band Instrument “quick Fix” Repair Solutions Manual (GIA pub).
Greg is married to his wife Dawn, who is the Waupaca Middle School Guidance Counselor. They have two children, Adam and Kaylee. Joining FFL has been a wonderful experience and Greg says that it gives him an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those that live in the community
